I'm going to this hotel a 5 star. When we arrived we checked into our room. Unfortunately it wasn't cleaned properly. I'm not one to ask reception to move rooms but on this occasion I did. Reception staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay better! We moved rooms, beds comfy, bathroom clean happy days! We decided to eat it the hotel. Service excellent and friendly! We were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection. My husband really enjoyed the lasagne. It was freezing in the bar but after at chat with the barman it was rectified the next evening. All we can say is, yes we would stay here again . The staff go above and beyond are engaged , friendly and genuine.

Came here with my two friends for one of their birthdays. Brian checked us into our hotel and gave amazing service, sung happy birthday to my friend and gave us three free drinks. Room was very nice and clean and location is near the train station. Would definitely recommend!

I was travelling solo to Newcastle and needed a one night stay. This hotel fitted the bill perfectly: close to the station and all amenities and at a very good price. After a day of sightseeing I arrived at the hotel to check in - very smart frontage and reception area; staff welcoming. I was really looking forward to getting to the room so that I could have a cuppa, but also because I was down to 5% charge on my phone and needed to save my Strava record. Unfortunately I had lost the plug section of my charger but the lovely receptionist found a spare and saved the day! The room was smart and clean with a good view (6th floor) and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size and towels beautifully soft, fluffy and very white. Very generous amounts of tea, coffee and milk with the kettle. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I checked in quite late at night and they were happy to hold the room for me, I did call earlier and intimate them. No parking was a let down for me, although there is a private car park just jext to the hotel. Breakfast was good. Room ambience should be more bright and cheerful. Felt a bit dull. Rooms were clean and well kept though.

This could be a fantastic hotel with a bit of work. First, the positives - great location, near to the Utilita Arena, basketball venue and right in the centre of town. Great, friendly staff who fell over themselves to help and cheap parking readily available. So why no higher review? The infrastructure is creaking. The lifts desperately need to be renewed (got stuck in one going up and down and not stopping), the bathrooms are tired and dated and the smell of mould was overpowering in my room. I really wanted to like this hotel, but it desperately needs an investment.
