The hotel has 77 classic en-suite guest bedrooms, which feature carved wood furniture, LCD flat-screen televisions and Wi-Fi and broadband access.

Breakfast and dinner are served daily at the in-house restaurant, while light meals and traditional afternoon tea can be ordered in the inviting lounge bar.

Flexible meeting and events rooms are available for private hire, plus PCs, colour printing and fax services for the convenience of business travellers.

Famous local attractions include Kensington Palace and Gardens, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. Knightsbridge's famous shopping street and Harrods's are a short walk away. A detailed location map can be found on our Travel Information page.

The Library suite is a flexible event space on the Ground Floor that can hold up to 70 people. It is an ideal venue for mid-sized boardroom meetings and training days in Kensington, and is also a popular private dining space for small groups of 20 or less.

A cozy hotel in the heart of Kensington, the rooms were well maintained and clean. The lift is a little small but understandably so. Elegant decor and traditional architectural design makes this a great hotel

The Gem Hotel South Kensington exceeded my expectations. Elegant décor, spacious rooms, and impeccable service. The location is unbeatable, with museums and dining options nearby. It's a true gem in the heart of London, perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Highly recommended!

Booked on secret escapes with a voucher we had gifted to us. Was a nice hotel, but clearly understaffed and you could see the staff were stressed sometimes. Our sheets weren’t changed at all for a three night stay - maybe this is their policy, but I’ve definitely been in many hotels that do change them every day. Our room also wasn’t hoovered the whole time too. Shower looked a bit dated. WiFi was good, it had a chrome cast for the tv which was great, breakfast was nothing special but still okay. Just a shame it was let down by the house keeping.

I can’t recommend this place at all, sorry. The most important thing about staying in a hotel is a stress free, comfortable rest. Instead the walls are paper thin, the food is terrible unless you upgrade to the £3 full English. You can hear next door talking, upstairs showering, the tv doesn’t have enough channels, there’s x2 plugs in the room and the beds are rock hard. It’s a great looking hotel, high ceilings, a vast history and the staff are managing well but I think it’s better you choose an established chain.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel because of security reason. Someone got into my room when I was out and when I asked for a CCTV check and the manager said my room was not under CCTV covered. Actually, anyone can get into the hotel and went upstairs. And they did not take this seriously, not even reply email after that. Besides, the room was old and super small, noisy as it lies next to a road.
