David Hockney once described the effect of being in Dennis Severs' house as akin to that of one of the world’s greatest operas. The house cannot be pigeon holed into any of the mundane camps of “local history”, “antiques”, “lifestyle”, “museum” or as ideal for visiting tourists or bored company director’s wives. The venue is simply unique and available for hire as a filming and photography location.
Dennis Severs’ House provides an inspirational setting for filming and photographic shoots. Created by the late Dennis Severs, the house creates a “still-life drama” around the lives of a family of Huguenot silk weavers named Jervis who lived there in the 18th century.
