Spencer House is a hidden treasure. The guide was so knowledgeable. She told us about the interesting history of the family and the house. The restoration was so carefully done with attention to detail. It was a joy walking from room to room, seeing the numerous artworks and colourful rooms.

We came for the Sunday tour, and loved the excellent guide who took us through the 8 rooms in approx. 1:10, going through the architecture, furniture, artwork, and the house's history. Note that a lot of items are reproductions, and photos are only allowed in two rooms. You need to prebook, though note it's free if you have the Historic Houses membership (email them). Toilets are available onsite, and the woman's in lower ground is fairly ornate. There was one large slight of stairs on the tour, but easy to navigate.
