The Old Church, Stoke Newington, is a stunning and inspirational Tudor church within an atmospheric graveyard on the corner of Clissold Park, Hackney. Renovated in 2013 it has almost no pews, flexible staging, heating, nice accessible loos and a kitchenette - and so presents a versatile space for wedding receptions, parties and all kinds of arts and community events. There are small side rooms for Green Room / catering use. Please note that this is the small 450 year old church opposite the larger and newer St Mary's church!

Need a centuries-old church for your photoshoot? Or a spooky graveyard? The Old Church, Stoke Newington is 450 years old, packed with incredible history and soaked in atmosphere. Fashion shoots, music videos, film location. One aisle of the church still has the Victorian box pews in place, the rest is open and flexible, and full of character. There is a small balcony overlooking the main nave which can be accessed for spectacular views of the space. The graveyard is romantic and somewhat overgrown. Some influential people from local and national history rest there.

Historical landmark, worth the visit! Gorgeous building full of historic details and near a great park

An intimate, atmospheric music venue. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and volunteers and offered mince pies and mulled wine (it was near Christmas). The seating was comfortable enough. There were a few parking spaces nearby, although charging hours for the spaces were Mon-Sat until 6:30pm. As we went on a Sunday, there was no issue with permits.

Always liked it. Calm atmosphere and quiet, elegant interior. Candles to light, and a little crèche in the corner. Sometimes a musician rehearsed organ or piano. Another wonderful Hackney thing
