The hotel is a Historic 15th Century Coaching Inn and is set in the picturesque market town of Stony Stratford a short distance from Milton Keynes with easy access to the A5 and M1. The Cock Hotel rose to national importance as an official staging post for the famous Manchester Flier, which took a 25-minute stop at The Cock Hotel for dinner. Travelers staying at The Cock Hotel and The Bull opposite vied with each other in telling of outrageous 'tales of the road' from whence the famous phrase 'Cock and Bull story' derived.

Really friendly staff and she gave us good recommendations on the gin. The place was clean and tidy. Decor around the pub was also very nice.
Pre-Raphaelite Dreams
Lovely old building with functional yet perfectly adequate and clean rooms at a very good price: much more charming than similar-priced rooms at those impersonal hotel chains! Comfy bed, good shower (essential!). Delicious cooked breakfast and friendly, courteous staff. Victoria T.

Dined with friends in a function room. Lovely meal and staff were very accommodating despite very busy. Friendly staff and good service. Nice place to visit.

Visited again since last summer. Although the service was a little slower than hoped this was simply covid precaution related and how busy they were. However, the menu was so much better than I remembered. I was impressed with both the quality and quantity of food. On top of this they have the extensive drink menu you'd expect. This was lunch for us and was superb value for money. Definitely worth a visit and a bite to eat!

Cheap food with a cheap taste. Good if you wanted some chips and a beer. Not some where I’d go again for my Sunday lunch. Everything tasted the same, of nothing.
