Graveney Gin, Exclusive Hire

Victoria Christie makes organic Graveney Gin in a local micro-distillery, using juniper and goji berries, angelica, pink grapefruit peel, fresh orange, baobab and orris root. The spirit is the mainstay of her bijou unit located in one of Tooting’s two foodie ‘destination’ covered markets. Squeeze on to a pew in the shop/ bar and savour Graveney in over a dozen fairly priced gin-based cocktails: Martinis (limoncello; pear and walnut; Earl Grey; or ‘dry’ with a pink grapefruit twist); classics including Bee’s Knees, French 75 and Negroni; and house calls such as sloe gin Bellini or Amazon (a gin and cucumber Mule). Settle in at communal tables and chairs in the aisles opposite; the market’s clientele makes for exotic eye candy. Then order a crisp, floral G&T – choose from various flavoured Fevertree or Double Dutch tonics – and tuck into dishes brought in from the market’s numerous global street-food stalls.
