My kids I had a fab day at Newcastle and loved seeing the Mummies and Dinosaur skeletons in the Hancock Museum. They enjoyed the hands-on things to do, as you go around, and also loved the gift shop. Would recommend to all families. You can easily spend a couple of hours here and it is also free, with a voluntary donation box in the lobby.

Fantastic free museum in the heart of Newcastle. Excellent place to visit for people of any age. Lots of things to see. Good displays, well thought out information with just the right amount of information to read. We loved it and could have stayed a lot longer than the time we had.

Lots of really interesting artifacts and information to be found here. A giant T Rex skeleton cast and fossils, geodes, ancient Greeks, Egyptians (journey to the end of life is really fascinating), the deep sea, this place has it all and more! We'll be back again once the planetarium is back up and running as we can't wait to see what that holds for us to!

Stuffed animals, rocks and Hadrian's Wall. A mishmash of a collection common in regional museums. What makes this museum essential is the Hadrian's Wall collection. Some superb archaeological finds displayed well. And it's free, although a donation is asked for. Would be great for kids also as has lots of hands on exhibits.

Loved it. Kids had a fabulous time, as did adults, lots to see and quite interactive. Well run, fab gift shop, and worth a visit. Possibly need more eating space, for picnics. Brilliant knowledgeable staff.
