Description

{10-11} Carlton House Terrace, home to The British Academy, is a versatile setting for conferences, seminars, promotional launches and business meetings. The venue also provides more formal surroundings for weddings, private parties and other special occasions. With striking period features, grand cornice work and fine decoration, the 10 rooms available for hire each offer their own inimitable style.

The Terrace itself was designed by architect John Nash to give some of the best views of the Royal Park and the Mall.

{10-11} Carlton House Terrace and their catering partner Searcys offers unrivalled standards of service.

The S T Lee Reading Room is a stunning, generously proportioned space with an ornate ceiling, beautiful archways and artworks, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases that stretch along two walls. Leading through to the Library, it might give the impression of an informal club room. With bright windows overlooking the Mall, St James’s Park and Horse Guards Parade, events held here can take on an air of royal and parliamentary London.

This is a real gem of London tucked away on a quiet street but only minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. The venue is looked after excellently, with amazing original features and stunning views from every room, an eclectic array of artwork, and TWO beautiful grand staircases. As it's a private building events held there feel very exclusive. The service is top notch and really great food - breakfast/lunches and delicious fine dining dinners too. History of the building is fascinating also. Love it!

We had our wedding here in Sep-2013. I cannot think of anything that the staff could have done better. The service was fantastic throughout the whole event. Everything was possible to arrange, I didn’t receive a single hesitation. The building is beautiful inside, especially the main staircase. Highly recommend this place.

We hired a room with historic decor here for a film shoot, and were helped greatly by the professional and flexible staff. Beautiful location, and a great impression made on guests.

Beautiful venue, conveniently located. New Sherlock Holmes movies were filmed inside. Highly recommended if someone is looking for a really original place to tight the knot.
