February 2024Stayed overnight last week and attended a private dinner in the function room. Food was amazing and the service absoutely excellent. My room was spacious and very clean with a nice juliet balcony that let lots of natural light into the room. The staff here really make the difference between a good stay and an exceptional one. From the warm welcome at reception to the hard working team in the bar and function room all of them had a smile on their face and made sure we were all having a lovely time. Thanks to Claire and Andy for keeping drinks topped up and Jim with his good humour! I left my coat in the room on checkout and the lovely Sam who was cleaning the rooms returned it to me. I will be back!

March 2024Can't complain! Outside the hotel looks dated rooms clean food spot on staff accommodating especially jimmy! A credit to the hotel always kept our drinks filled up and nothing was too much trouble.

January 2024My room was OK, if a little tired. Good cleanliness. Breakfast was very good and the evening food, from a modest menu, was excellent. The staff here are the highlight. I was part of a training group, staying 4 days, and the service provided was exceptional. I'd stay again if in the area.

December 2023A bit shabby looking from the outside but clean and comfortable on the inside. Festively decorated with a comfortable lounge, dining and bar area. Our bed was very uncomfortable and could do with the mattress replacing. Had to ask three times for extra pillows so ended up going to Tesco to buy some. Excellent service throughout from David and Jim who apparently never go home it seems! Adequate breakfast and a particularly good meal in the restaurant on the Friday night (we were there for the Christmas party weekend). Our only complaint about the party night was the food not being served until nearly 8.45pm which, being diabetic, was not ideal for me. The room was full of extremely loud screaming groups of office parties, which although its not The Everglades fault, could've done with being slightly better managed in the way the room was set out. Sadly the DJ did not create a party atmosphere and having been married to a DJ for 10 years, I am qualified to know a bit about preparing a room for a proper dance floor/atmosphere. We left before the dancing began. On the whole we were pleased with The Everglades and for just under £100 each for 2 nights, b&b including the party, was extremely good value. The staff are fantastic and really made our stay comfortable. Its a shame there weren't really enough staff on Saturday night to get the party started in good time and meals served earlier.
