We had a wonderful one night stay. Really superb location, excellent service, comfortable bed and great shower. The Doorman was very friendly and professional, as was the lady who served us at breakfast. The decor was beautiful. We will definitely return. A few small niggles; our milk in the room had been opened already and our bags didn’t get brought up, but both times we called reception and they brought them up within minutes so not a problem at all. Really nice to find somewhere that understands true customer service.

Short stay at the Middle Eight hotel (Sat-Sun). Reception staff were great-Saq was excellent and swiftly checked us in and upgraded our room with no additional fee. The room was great and surpassed my expectations. Breakfast was delightful and the staff again were very attentive. Check out was straightforward and quick. The hotel is in a nice location and fairly easy to reach from the tube station. Overall, a fantastic stay at the Middle Eight hotel. I would certainly stay there again-highly recommend.

Great location between 2 underground stations. Check in went smoothly and staff pleasant. I booked the room for my husband as a birthday treat for easy travel to the theatre. I paid a lot of money for the room and found it no better than any other hotel I have stayed in London ( and I have stayed in a lot ). The room was small with a view onto a courtyard with office buildings. The bathroom mirror surround flickered and I mentioned it at reception and nothing was done. No place to put toiletries in the bathroom but the shower was great. Bed was comfortable but room was hot even with air conditioning. Room was not cleaned to a good standard as still rubbish under the raised wardrobe. When we arrived at breakfast we found paying over £300 for a room only gave us buffet breakfast so couldn’t order anything from the menu. I was very disappointed with the hotel and would not stay again.

Second stay at this hotel. Room was as expected. Housekeeping was well into the afternoon each day, wasn’t an issue for us but may be for others. Breakfast at £33 pp is expensive and you don’t get everything on the menu. So many great places within 5 min walk that are fabulous and offer a great selection. This stay, our room faced the main road but we had no noise at all. Gym is small and limited equipment but standard in this location. Safe wasn’t locking and asked twice for someone to come and reset it but no one did. The location is excellent for walking to many attractions.

Great location with easy access to The Underground and within walking distance to the a lot of tourist spots which was important to us on our first visit to London. We stayed for 7 nights. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. One day we returned around 9 pm to find that there was no running water in the toilet (tap, commode, shower). We called reception to be told that it was known issue and was been looked into. No warning when we returned, no backup plan for the guests, no updates, nothing. Whenever we called we were told "next half hour" etc but no change. We ended up buying bottled water from a convenience store, heating it in the coffee maker to wash up after a long day exploring! While I was excited on exploring London's history, was not certainly not expecting to have to live through the 1800's! Water was restored around 5 am the next day! Daily clean is customary only and by the end of our stay, I could have left this review in the dust on multiple surfaces. On check in, we were told we could add breakfast at 25$ per person and this would be lesser than if we walked in without the package. We chose the option for 4 breakfasts. They needed specific dates which we provided. Buffet/self serve was cold items such as cheeses, meats etc and hot items could be ordered from a menu. Taste and quality were just ok (you can eat a delicious meal at the same price (or less) at multiple breakfast places within a 10 min walk). We used 2 options on days where we had a very early start and other restaurants were not open and asked to cancel the other 2 breakfasts. We were told only at this point that the breakfasts could not be cancelled so we had the option to eat the mediocre food or lose that money. I felt a refund was not an unreasonable ask since we had not eaten one day and had one day upcoming and pending and at the very least be informed on the cancellation policy when we were made the offer. We ate out, the taste buds deserved it. Last night, we asked if they had a weighing scale we can use to weigh our suitcases and we had an early check out the next morning. They had to check with the manager (NOTHING gets done or answered without asking the mysterious, omnipotent manager which was frustrating). After multiple calls to reception, we were then told that the weighing scale was locked in a particular closet and the keys were in possession of a person who was not available. They kept putting us off till midnight with excuses of working on it, person is on the way etc and then we were finally told that the person would be available next morning at "time kept changing". The next morning after multiple follow ups someone came to the room with a travel weighing scale and told us they could not leave it with us. They waited while we weighed the bags and returned the scale which was ridiculously hilarious! Expected a lot more from a what is marketed as a luxury hotel.
