Super friendly service, the restaurant downstairs is top notch. Rooms have a utilitarian arty vibe with high quality bedding, bath products. Simple understated comfort with just the right level of luxe. Just my kind of place.

We went here for a post wedding day breakfast. It had a great breakfast menu & they coped so well with the large numbers. Fresh orange juice was lovely & all the food was great.

Can't recommend this hotel too highly. We booked a 'superior sea view' room and it didn't let us down. But the whole hotel has a superior feeling. Immaculate decor, excellent and helpful service and great location.

A really lovely hotel very well positioned near the Turner gallery, sea front and old town. We were in room 9 which had great views. The room itself was beautifully done. We'll definitely return.

Second time to Fort Road, this time for my birthday. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, the sheets are so soft and the bed really comfy. The toiletries smell so amazing you will go straight out and buy some Haeckels! However, the breakfast service really lets the experience down. It took an hour for our breakfast to come on a Tuesday morning (there were only two of us!), and it only arrived when we checked on the status of the order. One of our breakfasts was cold and had to be sent back, but we were told it was meant to be cold (it was Turkish eggs with toast). Toast isn’t usually cold, it didn’t feel like a very polite way of dealing with the experience. Coupled with the fact we were given the wrong menus to start with (the inclusive breakfast ones by mistake), and it took a long time to even get our order for food in with only a 1/3 full restaurant, it wasn’t the nicest start to a birthday stay. Rooms lovely, building lovely, but could be better.
