Uncommon Ground is an independent, family owned and operated, speciality coffee bar situated in Cardiff’s historical Royal Arcade. We are two local brothers, Paul and Ian Hayman, who have devoted our passion for coffee into roasting and serving the finest, freshest, and expertly prepared coffee to the people of Cardiff since opening in March of 2015.

Our distinctive coffee bar lends itself to a relaxing and comfortable environment – ideal for groups both small and large. Our central location, along with a mixture of intimate and communal spaces, makes us a perfect spot for all your event needs.

The whole venue is available to hire both in and out of trading hours.

Really like the esthetic of the place with friendly staff and tasty food. There is a great range of coffees. This place is also very central to the main shopping area of Cardiff making it the perfect choice

Probably the coolest coffee shop I’ve visited. Great selection of blended and single origin coffee. Beautiful space with a good variety of seating and a contemporary warehouse style that wouldn’t look out of place in Hoxton. Friendly service and great tasting coffee.

Really nice place. Had your sausage roll on a previous visit which was delicious (more like pork 'en croute') but unavailable this time - had the breakfast burrito instead which was nice but I think more like a regular wrap - would need some rice in there (which would probably be really nice to absorb some of the sauce) to make it as a burrito. Still, one of the best places for a nice coffee and some food i have found in Cardiff.

Really comfortable and relaxing space in a visually stunning arcade. Their V60 filter coffee was top notch and they have a few beans to choose from. Unfortunately the long black wasn’t great. Burnt and stale tasting. A pretty standard story for almost every Cardiff coffee shop. The search continues...
