I was looking forward to stay in this hotel however the overall experience we had was very disappointed and very underwhelming. The staff is not welcoming and is really not interested in making your experience better. We arrived few hours before the Check in time and were bluntly and coldly told that we would need to come back after 3pm. Having other engagements in the afternoon we did not make it back to the hotel before 5pm. When finally checking in we were told for the first time that we needed to book our breakfast slot and were offered the remaining ones: 7.15am, 10.30am and 11am... No slots available between 8 and 10am and no desire from the staff or the restaurant to accommodate us. I understand the restrictions in place due to Covid and the limit restaurants have to follow however a real 4 star hotel would have made the tables of the bar/lounge available to receive guests at the time that worked for them. With a 3 year old we could not make the 7am slot and had other engagements from 10. We had no other choice than to request a refund for the breakfast. After making the request at reception we are issued with a £10 refund when breakfast is in fact charged £24 for two people. Thankfully when we expressed our surprise they agreed to refund he remaining £14. No apologies or desire to accommodate us even though we had a young child. We have travelled a lot and stayed in many 4* and the Dunston Hall hotel is far from the level of service you receive in a 4*. If it wasn't for its facilities (conference room and leisure centre) this hotel would not be worth more that a 3*. I would strongly recommend to search for a different accommodation if you want to have the service quality of a 4*.

Astonishing house and grounds. Have to agree with some people that some rooms need an update, but rooms are clean and spacious with everything you will need during your stay. Staff goes extra mile to make your stay perfect. Only 15 min from Norwich.

Excellent stay. 2 nights. Lovely setting. Room 204.. Brilliant staff. Good beer and food. Cant play golf but never mind. Will stay again

GOOD POINTS - Lovely comfortable bed, Staff very polite and friendly, Evening meal excellent value for money and excellent waitress service, breakfast excellent choice and well set out. BAD POINTS - Some rooms are dark and dismal and a bit dusty on top of the wardrobe , Try a ditch the net curtains bit out dated. All in all a good stay.

Best you could give this place is 3 star. Restaurant is closed and only buffet available for dinner. Generally a bit run down and needs a major upgrade to get to 4 star. Seams that the major trade they get are coach parties.
