Located in the heart of Birmingham, The Botanist (Gas Street Basin) is a short walk from New Street Station, Broad Street or Symphony Hall. This extensive venue is split across two floors, each with its own bar and dining areas, and boasts one of the best beer gardens in the city centre (as voted in 2019).

With multiple private dining rooms throughout, this is the perfect setting for any special occasion and unforgettable parties. The deliciously casual menu is designed with you in mind, so you can feel like you’re eating your favourite home-cooked meal just without the fuss. They host several events throughout the year and live music every weekend. The whole venue is also completely dog-friendly - there's literally no better reason to visit.

In the summertime, you can enjoy a beer in the sun with extraordinary canal side views, but not to worry... from October to March* their Pergola will be open for all, a stunning winter terrace, so you can enjoy dinner with a view all year round.

Ideal as a private or semi-private space for drinks and canapes, or a seated meeting/dinner. Seated capacity of 66 guests, and 120 guests with a mixture of seating & standing. A great space for networking events, company parties, or a meeting space before/after your events!

Saw an advert on TikTok of the new location and thought it looked so pretty, I had to go. Really was beautiful in there and a lovely atmosphere, staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and was nice to have a few options available as a vegan! Will definitely be coming back, it’s too pretty not to!

A really great restaurant in the middle of the best part of Birmingham. Nice canal view and large terrace. The menu and drink selection is very extensive and everything tastes so sweet. You have to look for a better atmosphere than this for a long time!?

Beautiful bar inside, great food and service. I had the dirty chicken burger, breadless and was not disappointed. The chips were lush too. Happpy they had rascal cider!

Busy, so book ahead. There was lots of interesting food on the menu, but my portion was not very big. There was a live singer on, and it was difficult to talk to your companions.

Was eating and drinking at the Botanist recently. The place itself is in a very good spot with the canal. The service was all over the place. It was not that busy yet waiting for service took longer than we liked. One of the waiters said your better off going up to the bar to get drinks and when we did that we were waiting 15 minutes to get served and when we did it was from a bar person in training. At one point 2 separate drinks came to our table that we never even ordered. And not a good sign when your waiting for food to come out and everyone else is served around the table and you have to ask the waitor about it in which he goes up to the kitchen and has to ask them to then make it because they forgot. For what you are paying for the service needs to better. I would go again especially for the location and the food was nice and tasty.
