As ever, German chef Rainer Becker and Italian designer Claudio Silvestrin made Japan their muse for this fourth link in the Roka group. In its two smart spaces, texture is all important: look out for porphyry stone, tanned leathers and stained-grey timber. Set between Covent Garden and Somerset House, the restaurant makes a big play of its robata grill, which dominates the open kitchen in the middle of the main dining room. The inviting bar serves cocktails in handmade clay vessels and is a good spot for a working lunch. Its display walls showcase the group’s range of shochu tonics. Both spaces invite groups for sit-down dinners.

Wow this place is great. I’d love to revisit with friends and family, for them to be ‘wowed’ too. We had a 10 person round table (perfect for a special occasion). The seasonal set menu couldn’t have tasted better. Incredible flavours in both the fish and vegetarian dishes. There was more food than anyone could finish, which we felt guilty it going to waste.

Delicious food with a great variety on the menu. Good selection of Sake and wines, perfect for pairing with Japanese cuisine. I emphasize the desserts, which are fantastic and showcase innovation. The service could have been better (we had to ask three times to take our order). It is important to make a reservation.

I loved about the food, presentation at ROKA. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food were delicious and the portions were great. We had a lovely time. The presentation of the bowl of rice can be improved. (With rice all around the outside of the bowl, not neat & tidy enough)

I had the £71.50 bottomless brunch which included unlimited small plate one main, sharing desert platter and free flowing fizz, rose or wine. Overall the food was well presented and tasty. I’d suggest you start with a selection of all the small pales than pick what you want more of after a.
