The Sackville Street Building is a blend of 19th and early 20th century styles. The opulent main entrance on Sackville Street gives access to the Entrance Hall, which is a traditional venue for buffets and receptions with its stained glass windows and lofty ceiling.

February 2024The Whitworth holds such a great collection and the temporary shows are great. Came for the Palestinian embroidery and could have been in there for hours. Also the staff are super friendly, there’s loads of seating, there’s a cafe but also places to eat if you bring your own food, and a prayer room. Every gallery should be like this.

Formed in 2004 as a result of a merger, this university owns and operates no less than 5 major cultural and historical sites, including a UNESCO world heritage site. . Within its campus sit 2 of those attractions - the Manchester Museum, and the Whitworth Park & Art Gallery. . Climate change has prolonged the colours of autumn.

August 2022I cannot give this place less than 5 stars. Amazing campus. Always buzzing with students and they have modernized over time with great architecture while maintaining a fine balance with the heritage architectures.
