The only way into Eight Club Moorgate’s digs is via a speedy penthouse lift, which elevates members and event guests above the City bustle.
At the top, you’ll find a roomy two-floor club that fuses views with the dark wood and textured glass one would expect from a scene in Mad Men. In contrast to its subterranean sibling near Bank station, this venue comprises a series of light, bright spaces (including two terraces) that make a handsome setting for events, be it a meeting, private dinner or cocktail party.
For the former, look first to the Library Room, which has floor-to-ceiling windows, book-lined walls and chesterfield sofas.

June 2024We go here weekly. The space is nice but dated. The staff is kind but lacks energy. The price point of the club makes it’s a real bargain for London and the outdoor spaces are very nice for those summer days. Lastly, it does get crowded Tuesday - Thursday, so if you plan to work you can expect slow connectivity.

March 2024The food always impresses here and it’s a lovely venue to visit. Front of house were polite welcoming and helpful. Having been here using Groupon half a dozen times before and always impressed sadly the service by the waitresses really dulled the visit. Serving the table with the champagne in complete silence, a bit awkward. Cutlery replaced in a haphazard way then serving plates onto the cutlery. Other times putting the plates down in a way that the plate would rattle around on the table, I noticed similar service for our neighbouring table who politely told the waitress it would be nicer for their special occasion to have the food delivered in a gentler way. There was no explanation of the dishes either upon delivery of food. We had the menu so could look at what we were having so not a big deal but the parts of service all add up negating from the experience. If this is what is to now be expected I sadly wouldn’t return again as there are so many better places to go to even though it is a good deal through Groupon

June 2024Absolutely the most horrible experience I've had since Covid lockdown, and I visit about 150 restaurants per year - I don't understand how a restaurant can do literally EVERYTHING WRONG that they can do??? It took about 50 min before we finally got our first drink - the table water. Then the wines came, the red was about 21 degrees (way too hot) and the white was about 18 degrees (way too hot). And they are not cheap!!! Then the butter came, but no bread until we asked after 15 min if they were intending so serve that as well. The starters were relatively OK, I had the octopus and scallop salad, the octopus was not great, the scallop was very tasty - for so far probably anything positive that there can be said. The main courses came, and it was stone-cold - we complained, but nothing was done, nor even apologies from the kitchen (the waitress said she had told the kitchen who told her that it's impossible that it is cold, as it should be hot - well, I can tell you, ABSOLUTELY STONE COLD). The food (lemon sole) was disgusting of the limited taste that was in there. The servers were trying but there wasn't anything that they could do that made anything good. I can only advise you, AVOID THIS PLACE for whatever you can, it's massively overpriced, it's terrible service, it's horrible and cold food, it's overpriced wines at completely the wrong temperature, and overall - I had one of my most horrible nights of the last 5 years. And not even an apology from any of the managers, except the waitress who kept apologising - she could have gotten the manager but refused to do so. NEVER AND NEVER AGAIN
