May 2024Stayed on a work trip - first time in a Mercure. Was pleasantly surprised- it's a nice airy building and the rooms were a reasonable size. I've only given the rooms a 3 due to the temperature setting on the shower not working and the AC fan being a bit noisy. Food was a pleasant surprise - I thought the menu was quite innovative and the food was tasty, well cooked and a generous portion. I didn't use the spa. Parking was easy too.

May 2024We had a good stay at the hotel, which was clean and comfortable. It's a shame that it's such an unpleasant walk to the town centre. The alley way at the side of the Range is disgusting. Whilst I appreciate this is outside the control of the hotel, we did ask if there was another way we could walk - other than turning right out of the hotel and were told no! As it happens if you turn left out of the hotel and follow the path you can avoid the alley way, which is better. Other than that all good, though breakfast is a little expensive.

June 2024Quite appalling conditions. Mattress well worn, basically sleeping on a base, bathroom leaking, shower basin creaky and unstable, no TV remote control, safe not working, filthy window, intense smell of cigarettes in the room, constant noise from air conditioning unit. Breakfast and restaurant also on the lower level. Ordered steak for dinner, not only burnt but quite gummy too. Breakfast quite basic, coffee machine seen better times. Hotel needs major refurbishment as it is well worn out. Won’t be coming back, would rather stay in Liverpool 30 miles away.
