We stayed at the White Swan for two nights in March. Super friendly and professional sfaff who went out of their way to help and to make the breakfasts and dining excellent. Great food, nicely presented in charming old dining rooms. Bedroom excellent (not vast but bathroom was), best rain shower I have used in a hotel. Highly recommended.

4th stay in as many years last weekend. Rooms are always excellent; clean, well equipped & the beds are so comfortable. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The choice & quality of the breakfasts are amazing. Relaxing bar area and lovely restaurant. Such a historic pub in a great location. Easy to explore the town and visit the theatre. Will definitely return again

We stay there every summer when we take the students for study abroad. We've tried several other hotels and the white Swan is the best on every level--the history, great restaurant, location, stellar facilities! Most of all the service is outstanding!!! Everyone who works there is kind and helpful! We love their English breakfast too! My husband is very picky, especially about bathrooms and beds and he looks forward to staying there every summer!!!

Lovely overnight theatre stay, just after Christmas. Comfortable rooms, and the best provision of plug sockets and media hardwire connectivity that I've ever encountered in a hotel room. Proper filter coffee in the room, but no biscuits. Great full English breakfast. Bar prices a bit steep.

Pretty old pub place. Very touristy for a reason. It is nice looking. Nice looking also means small slow bar. Tables full of dirty dishes and the beer/ lager was eggy. We had a couple of different (rather expensive) pints. All a little off which amazes with what the through put would be. Food was a little rough as well. Much better elsewhere. Staff did try though with who was there.
