A Wonderful Stay at New Road Hotel Our 11-day trip to London was a delightful experience, thanks to our stay at New Road Hotel. My wife, child, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with fresh and diverse options every morning that set the perfect tone for our days. The dinners, especially the steaks, were some of the best we've ever had. I dare say they are the best in the area. The room was excellent—well air-conditioned, beautifully lit, and well-ventilated. The bathroom was new and spotless, and the shower was of top-notch quality. The hotel primarily caters to business travelers, so the room had an open wardrobe with shelves and a hanging system instead of a closed closet. However, this didn't pose any inconvenience for us. We comfortably managed our 11-day stay by utilizing the available space in the room. Location-wise, New Road Hotel is superb. The Whitechapel Underground station is just a 5-6 minute walk away, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere in London. This is a crucial factor when exploring the city. Additionally, there are numerous markets and dining options in the vicinity, which added to the convenience of our stay. What truly made our stay exceptional was the hotel staff. Every member of the team was incredibly attentive and kind. Special thanks to Nick and Cristina, who made our breakfast times even more enjoyable and hassle-free. Their warm and welcoming nature truly stood out. New Road Hotel made our London trip memorable, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and exceptional stay.

My go to place when I’m working in London. They’ve done a great job of turning this into a funky, but high quality hotel. The rooms are small, but high spec and super comfortable. The hotel is pretty quiet and so I’ve never not had a great nights sleep here. The staff are super friendly, and the bar area is a lovely place to chill on an evening - especially during happy hour. I’ve not eaten in the restaurant, mostly because I balk at the idea of paying £3.75 for sauce to go with my steak when it’s already £37 a steak! Call me tight 😂 Will be back though!

It was a bit noisy at night and the rooms are quite simple, no cupboards or storage spaces. The breakfast is really nice and it has an overall nice vibe. There is a tea station on each floor with free tea, which is nice. They also have a game room and an ironing room.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience as a result of a couple things. Let me set the scene: I arrived without any problems. The hotel is in a unique area, but it's a gem amidst everything. Walking through the front door, I thought to myself, "This is really nice." However, the first issue arose at reception. I stood there waiting to be acknowledged while the person manning reception was engrossed in their phone. After some time, I tapped on the desk to get their attention. The person finally noticed me and kind off acknowledged me, which was a bit annoying after a long week of travel. Despite this rocky start, the person manning reception was friendly enough afterward. He asked if I wanted breakfast, and I initially declined. Then he mentioned that this was already paid for by the payee/booker (not me), so I accepted. I paid a deposit, which I hate doing as random charges always work their way onto your card. He handed me a breakfast voucher and I went up to my room. The hotel layout is quite appealing, with the restaurant conveniently located at the bottom. I reached my floor and entered my room, which was small but nice. The bed placement made the room feel a bit constrained, but I appreciated the unique style. However, the plug placement was inconvenient, and it required some maneuvering to charge my devices. The next morning, I checked out without having breakfast. I had a long journey ahead and left the hotel, moving on to my next destination. A day or so later, I received a credit card notification and noticed two issues: the deposit taken at reception had not been refunded, and I was charged for breakfast despite being told it was included/paid for. Frustrated, I called the hotel to resolve this. The person I spoke with was helpful and took my issues on board to try and resolve them. They asked if I had received a breakfast voucher, which I confirmed but noted I was told this was already covered and was never mentioned for a separate charge for breakfast. While the initial impression was positive, these issues and the inconvenience they caused overshadowed my stay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for an extended stay, although it might be fine for a single night if you're in a pinch. Still awaiting my deposit back and the refund for my unwelcome charge. To be continued....
