I simply adore the botanical gardens, I’ve spent many a weekend walking around taking in the beautiful surroundings and gathering my thoughts. They are truly beautiful, you have to see the gardens in person to appreciate their true beauty. You will learn something from each and every visit. I still get lost in thought in the butterfly farm. They often have events throughout the year so be sure to check their calendar, it gets very busy and I personally prefer to visit at quieter times. The cafe has a simple menu although it is expensive given the quality of product supplied, if you have special dietary requirements you may be better off bringing your own food.

I had a lovely afternoon at the botanical gardens with my parents and son. We treated ourselves to afternoon tea and it was delightful! We were sat on the veranda, outside but under cover, the catering staff attended to us as though we were celebrities and couldn't do enough for us, they were brilliant! The fantastic weather certainly helped our day, I had completely forgotten how much there is to see. We spent a few hours wandering around, looking at the planting, gardens, birds, butterflies, buildings and other attractions, taking photos and ideas. There were a selection of children's play areas so it's a great day out for all ages. Everyone loved the peacocks who waltz around singing and looking for friends and food! I would definitely recommend this place to visitors. Parking spaces are quite tight so if you have a full car you might want to unload before parking.

Maybe 3 stars. After a long continuing heatwave plants are suffering. Highlight - watching butterfly emerging from chrysalis which fascinated grandsons aged 10 and 12 who took issue with other kids trying to pick butterflies up with thumb and finger instead of cupped hands or best leaving them alone. They enjoyed the 2 playground areas. There is an ice cream hut near both with very friendly staff, prices not too high compared to the main food outlet. There are copious signs giving information about plants and collectors. The gardens are also educational in purpose. It would be good if there were gardeners or students around to give more information. The aviaries are worth visiting. It's a good afternoon out, near to the city centre, with enough to keep preteens and horticulturalists occupied. But it is not cheap (unless you have a family pass) not exceptional.

Lovely place for a wander or even just a place to sit and relax with a book on a warm afternoon. Came here to work at a conference as has a look around Street. Considering a yearly pass and it's very reasonably priced and not far from home. Beautifully presented and the staff are great. Nice play ground for the kids too and butterflies!

Nice for a couple of hours. Good to walk around & fine for wheelchair users. Oasis close to Birmingham city centre. Easily accessed by public transport. Buildings look a little tired. Plenty of benches.Plenty of room for kids to run around with a good if small bespoke play area as well ad the large grasses area. Small cafe for drinks & sandwiches/ cakes
