Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Sapphire Room

We had a 2 night stay and had a very good bar meal before going to the theatre. Our room was upgraded to a lovely well maintained, clean and quiet room. Staff were very polite and helpful. Arrive on the train and walked across the road to the hotel which is centrally placed and very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room is spacious and comfortable (on a 2 night stay). There is constant hot water and great WiFi. A large bathroom with free standing bath (bath robes too!). However, only filter coffee is available at breakfast and they had no smoked salmon. The freshly made porridge and scrambled eggs were very nice (though the porridge could have been slightly warmer). Overall great!

A very well positioned hotel only a couple of minutes from Birmingham new street station . Situated in the main shopping centre . Check in was a little slow due to a number of people turning up together otherwise efficient. Room was both spacious and comfortable with a lovely small double with lovely squishy pillows . Evening meal was a set meal for a couple of hundred fellow delegates and was well cooked and presented and the servers were very friendly and helpful. All very tasty. Breakfast was the usual fare with the hot food freshly cooked and served to order. Poached eggs were lovely. The conference facilities were very good and comfortable and lunch was a buffet and absolutely fine . Plenty of tea coffee and cold drinks. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
