We (2 adults and a 9 year old) just spent a long weekend here. It was fantastic, clean new lodges, brilliant location for Cheddar and great facilities. The best part however was the Go Active staff who made the holiday really special for my daughter (and us).

Great lodges, though the ones towards the centre are a bit on top of each other, with very little parking! Generally quiet and the onside facilities are great. Good location by Chedder, walkable, so that's a bonus. Recommend you ask for a lodges going up the hill, they look amazing!

Loved the location. Perfect for days out to the nearby cities of Wells, Bristol, Bath, Chew Valley Lake and of course Cheddar Gorge. There is also a nice walk along the old train line, called the Strawberry Line. The restaurant has a good selection of nice reasonably priced food and the swimming pool and gym are excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Highly disappointed with our recent stay. Stayed here before and loved it so thought we would pay the £500 for a 4 night stay for my mums birthday. The lodge- couldn't use hot tub for the first night as it hadn't been filled until late afternoon. The oven doesn't work properly. Toilets are hard to flush (faulty buttons). Floor is filthy (stained carpet and floor hasn't been mopped so dirty). Half of the wallpaper in the bedroom had either been torn or completely ripped off. The heating was a bit iffy. We tried to speak to someone about this but no manager available until Thursday. The maintenance team were meant to come round about oven but we never saw anyone. Don't expect to get much use of the pool. Available for adults only between 9+9.30am then everyone until 1. Then between 2 and 4. But this changes. In the afternoon school kids come in for swimming lessons (so can't use) and then in Thursday mornings the pool is also closed for swimming lessons! Changing rooms and showers are a bit grubby compared to a year ago. We don't like to complain and these may not seem like big deals. But when you pay over £500 for a 4 night week day stay (although basically 3 days use as in at 4pm and out by 10am) and don't have access to the facilities all of the time, it's disappointing. I know we had a dog friendly lodge but there was no excuse for dirty floors and non working ovens! Not a relaxing or 'luxurious' retreat as expected. Unfortunately we won't be coming here again as far too expensive for the current state of facilities.

Nope. Not great. Pool advertised as 9:00 - 17:00 but it’s always rented out for private lessons. The timetable keeps changing without notice, and the staff are quite rude about this when you point out the times advertised. Indignant and unapologetic. If we’d have known we’d have picked a different place to stay. Restaurant only serving pizza for some reason and the icecreams advertised in waffle cone, but served in cheap and nasty cones. The accommodation is pretty good, but there’s bits of mop all over the floors. Overall, too many people. Not enough time allowed to swim in the pool. All activities sold out before arrival. Three people at reception. All look up and carry on with what they’re doing. Not one a available to answer a question.
