February 2024We stayed here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, everything was amazing from start to finish, clean hotel, nice breakfast and excellent staff, we requested some water in the middle of the night around 3am and a member of staff brought a full jug of water within 1 min up to our room. Highly recommended. Good spa facilities.

January 2024We went to a friend's birthday party here, the location grounds are beautiful, but we arrived in the dark and I have to say, it was very difficult to navigate our way along the dark windy roads and the signs to the car park were small and dimly lit. It wasn't the easiest to drive round. But once in side, the interior was beautiful, with stairs and lifts to the upper floors. It is a spar hotel and has a restaurant on the ground floor for day visitors. Our room for the party was spacious and well set out, the hot buffet was excellent and the entertainment was brilliant. Unfortunately the toilets let it down, such a wonderful establishment, with only one working hand dryer in each. Paper towels available but no bin to put them in, in the gents toilet. Reported this to staff who seemed a little disengaged. But apart from that we had a wonderful time.

March 2024Went for a golf break. The food was fabulous, probably the best hotel evening meal I've had. On the down side, coffee was cold in the bar and the milk was off in the room. Golf courses were extremely wet and in all fairness should not have been open but I understand places need the income. Lovely setting

February 2024The reception, bar and restaurant are all beautifully decorated and there was a very chilled vibe about the lounge area. Food was a little expensive but it was all very tasty! The staff were all really helpful, polite and friendly. We found that mealtimes were well staffed so if you needed anything there was always somebody able to help you. The pool was lovely and added bonus that there was no need to book. They also have a shop near the leisure reception which is great for if you have forgotten goggles, swimming toys and the like. It was lovely and quiet at night, we did not hear anybody from our room really. Some things to improve: Rooms really need an update. They are dated and a bit shabby now. We had a few problems with our room - the hot and cold tap were the wrong way round, so my son ended up scolding himself. The doorknob to the bathroom kept falling off. The bathroom towel rail was broken with wires on show which is not good but definitely bad with young children in a family room. The heater sounded like a plane about to take off so we could not turn it on. However, I let reception know and they sorted a couple of those problems whilst we were out for the day which we were grateful for (main one being the tap and they taped over the wires and fixed the doorknob.) When we got into our room there was a sweet wrapper on the chair and on the floor by the bed, looked under the bed and wished I hadn't (not sure when they ever get cleaned under there) When a family of 4 is staying I would advise putting more than two sets of towels in the room and the same with the water in the fridge. There were no glasses in the room, only mugs (Good for toothbrushes and other drinks) When booking it did say there was 24 hour room service, but upon arrival we were told it was not available for our room.
