June 2024Let me store my luggage 4hrs before check-in time, which I most definitely appreciated. The room and bathroom are great, the grounds are amazing. Free WiFi and beverages replenished every day. Close to bus stop into town centre and 5-10min walk to the tram stop. Haven't tried the breakfast so no comment on that. Can't fault it to be honest. (Ideal for visitors to the Hallamshire Hospital)

April 2024From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. All the staff were professional but friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed a pizza one evening. We had originally booked in for three nights but needed to extend our stay. Tigger the Whippet was also welcomed when she joined us a couple of days in to our stay. What was a difficult time for us was made easier staying at the Rutland.

June 2024Booked this hotel for its proximity to both Sheffield main hospitals. Really lovely hotel, well presented, clean and good decor. Friendly helpful staff. Really excellent value. We would definitely go back

July 2024It’s tired.. we had to move rooms as the shower didn’t work. No usb ports.. but as we were luckily staying 2 nights we got moved to a slightly better room, the staff were pleasant enough but offered no apologies for the inconvenience. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet but we were meeting other family members and there is no bar or evening meal to be had and I had to pay £3.00 for two bottles of water! Having said all that its situated in a fairly convenient area, and near bus stops. If you suffer from any kind of disability make sure you request a down stairs room there is no lift but that’s due to the age of the building. £9.00 parking charge but the grounds are pretty and I felt my vehicle was safe there.

July 2024Good location but.. the shower did not work in room, we told reception who said it would be sorted while we were out for the evening, it wasn't. We mentioned it again in the morning with poor response so asked to move rooms. No apologies given. We were given another room where the shower worked but wasn't connected to the wall correctly. I'm sure this hotel was lovely in it's day but we found it tired and our experience did not match the price paid.
