Milling Barn at Bluntswood Hall is an idyllic setting for your wedding celebrations. The venue enjoys an unrivalled location within the beautiful North Hertfordshire countryside, set on a charming family-run farm.
The Milling Barn is a delightful 17th Century oak barn, while the adjoining Dairy Barn is a converted milking parlour. Both barns are licensed to hold civil ceremonies, allowing you to spend your whole day at our exclusive venue. Alternatively, for something a bit different, you can choose to exchange your vows outdoors in the beautiful gardens or woodland setting.
Whether you plan to get married here or in your local church, both the Milling Barn and the Dairy Barn are perfect for your wedding reception, accommodating 180 and 150 guests respectively. The flexible barns, complete with licensed bars, can be arranged to suit the unique feel of your wedding from formal to more relaxed.
Weddings are our speciality at Milling Barn. We have played host to a number of bespoke wedding ceremonies, services and receptions for over 15 years. Every wedding held here is greeted with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail, and we take a personal approach to meet each and every couple’s specific ideas, needs and requirements. We strive to provide your dream day in a truly wonderful location.
To make the most of our beautiful setting here at Milling Barn, we have teamed up with acclaimed local catering company The Chopping Block to provide our wedding catering. The Chopping Block have been catering at numerous wedding venues for over 10 years and as such have built up an amazing reputation for great tasting food, imaginative ideas and excellent service.

July 2024A venue which was once a working farm in the countryside with nothing but fields around you is just want my husband and I were looking for. From the inital meet to the big day the staff were incredible, made sure all aspects were covered including the little things. Chloe managed our day and kept us continually in the loop. Chloe and her team basically set up the wedding breakfast area, therefore we didn't need to worry about this and could just focus on getting ready. We had final checks on all rooms before guests entered to make sure it was exactly what we invisioned. We had a couple of guests who had allergies, their chefs were completely accomodating to this. They also had a menu range of those who have other dietary requirements. All food served start to finish is perfect, we would highly recommend the woodfired pizza as an evening choice was a HUGE hit and by far the best pizza we have ever had! Another big bonus for us is that Milling Barn is dog friendly in outdoor areas and the ceremony barn which meant we were able to have our pooches with us. August 2024We recently got married at milling barn and I would 100% recommend. We had a lot of support throughout the planning process with regular meetings with your planner. On the day it ran so smooth when I turned up my planner had almost finished decorating Aimie- Justine was so organised and so helpful on the wedding day. She helped with anything you needed her for and making sure guests were they needed to be etc and was a great wedding planner. The food on the day was amazing and all the guests commented how nice it was. The venue is stunning and cannot have asked for a better wedding day.

September 2024My daughter got married here back in April and they couldn't have picked a better venue. Everyone was very professional but Amy was fantastic from beginning to end she made the day run as it should but also went that extra mile. Food was delicious I'd recommend this venue to anyone getting married it won't disappoint.

July 2024We got married at Milling Barn on the 24th June 2024. The whole experience from our first viewing to our wedding day was brilliant. Niamh and the team at Milling Barn are really well organised and have everything under control. Our day ran so smoothly and we were able to enjoy every moment of it. Milling Barn had everything we were looking for, we wanted an exclusive venue for the whole day and the bonus of accommodation. The variety of food choices made for difficult decisions, we decided on the relaxed menu which our guests loved and for the evening food, the freshly made pizza's are a must. There are so many beautiful places for the perfect photos and 0ur guests couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful the venue was. P.S ask about DJ Mike.
