It was great, very responsive to my needs and reduced the room size when fewer people signed up than hoped for. Thank you, your help was much appreciated

We stayed for 1 night (Saturday 04.05.2024) we were met by probably the friendliest most helpful front of house member of staff ever ! Sarah. She was really helpful, polite and generally all round nice person.. so a great start to our short but lovely stay in Cardiff ! Our room was clean, well presented and a pleasant stay Breakfast the following morning was continental and cooked and was more than enough to set you up for the day ahead

Came here as a couple a few weeks ago. On arrival we were told we were being upgraded, which was lovely. The room was a family room which had lots of space (completely unnecessary for us!!) Room was clean and light, with a nice big bathroom. The location was absolutely ideal, with it being only a few minutes walk from the main strip of shops and bars. Would highly recommend :)

Stayed here from 10-17 May while visiting Cardiff. Location: you can't get any better. literally across the street from the famous Cardiff Castle, and down the street from St Mary's (with lots of good pubs and life). About a 10 min walk on flat ground from Cardiff Central Station. Only loses 1 star from me due to the stairs in front of the hotel making it slightly disabled unfriendly, but that's due to the old design of the hotel, can't be changed, so I understand. There's a tiny lift in the hotel itself, big enough for 4, but you might struggle if your luggage is too big. Staff/Service: beyond perfect. Staff were super accommodating to my every request. Shout-out to Tracey from housekeeping for her excellent job and nice notes left for me in the room. Also to Mark and the Indian lady at the front desk (sorry I forgot your name!), they both helped me move to a more accessible room after I broke my ankle halfway through my trip (for unrelated reasons), moved my stuff and gave me the new room no questions asked, free of extra charge. Rooms: a bit dated, but still lovely. Bathtub in every room (I think). No AC in the rooms, but a fan can be sent up if you call the front desk, and opening the windows to the Spring weather was more than enough for me. Once again, thank you to the Angel Hotel team for taking care of me while I was there!

The staff were just amazing. Our first room was a bit hot(it was a hot day) and they changed it immediately. The hotel is opposite the castle and a short walking distance to several sightseeing places in the city. The gardens, the musuem and several beautiful restaurants are just a walk away. The breakfast also is a must have, very delicious selection. I hope to visit again soon.

The staff in reception is helpful and friendly. The location is great in city centre of Cardiff with lovely café, bar, and restaurants. Walk to the Cardiff Castle and Cardiff market by few minutes only. The outlook of the hotel and the hall looks gorgeous. But actually the building is dilapidated. My first room on second floor, one of window’s is broken and only used transparent tape to cover. The Window could not close properly, there’s a gap when it closed. The wind will cause the windows to vibrate and make sounds. Then I requested to change the room and the staff work very efficient to help me and I moved to another room on 3rd floor. There’s still the problem on the window gap, finally use paper to cover the gap. The room sound proof is worse, clearly hear people conversation and any sound of people walking. Inside the hotel, found many cracks on the wall, the lift is small and slow and was broken on the next day. It’s fine to me to stay 1 night on May with lovely weather and I got special price in low season (below £70) for a double bed room. I can’t imagine how to sleep well in hot summer or cold winter. Understand it is a historical building, regret that the owner not renovate the building and make it to be real gorgeous hotel and upgrade it to another level.
