April 2024What an amazing hotel, where do I start? The building itself I guess, it's stunning, a piece if history amidst the modern structures all around it. Beautiful inside as it is outside. Staff are ultra friendly, welcoming and very efficient! The room I was allocated was a standard room and for the price I wasn't expecting much but wow, it was really spacious, I was very pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was great! I had an absolute marvellous stay and highly recommend this hotel if you are perhaps visiting Sealife Centre, on business or even the theatres and shopping in the city centre. Just great, huge thank you!!!!

May 2024This quaint and historic hotel is well located for anyone travelling on business to Birmingham. The building is interesting, complete with unusual touches ranging from the historic to the modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. A very central location close to the main transport links.

May 2024Quite a long walk to the room. Up a flight of stairs, along a corridor, up another flight of stairs and another corridor. No lifts that I could see and went the way we were directed. Over 400 steps! The room was very nice, spacious and well decorated. Furniture was lovely. Breakfast was OK, ish, not very busy (around a dozen guests). Several items were missing, including sausage, hash browns and black pudding. The sausage and hash browns were replenished later. Again the decor was fantastic.

June 2024Worse hotel I have ever been. The hotel and the rooms are dated, maintenance is not existent, cleanliness is the last thing you will find here. I had a beer at the bar and even the glass smelled of dump, I didn’t finish my drink because of it. Absolutely disgusting. Never again, I have cancelled any future booking (I am in Birmingham for work often and my usual hotel was fully booked), I rather sleep in my car.
