What to think about when choosing the perfect Christmas Lunch venue in Edinburgh
Edinburgh hosts some of the best events and festivals annually with the whole city, particularly the venues, stepping up to the challenge and helping in making these occasions the best they can be. Edinburgh is renowned for its fine dining scene and consequently when it comes to the Christmas lunch your options really are endless. The question is how do you narrow down the choice? We have come up with a few things to consider that hopefully will take the pressure off and make the decision easier:
1. Location The obvious choice is close proximity to your office. Choosing a location that's within stumbling distance from desk to drink is always desirable. You don't have to think about transport, ordering taxi's, which means everyone is more flexible and can move at their own pace. Saying that, don't shut out those delicious venues that are a little further afield. First off Edinburgh is a small (but great) city, and distance really isn't an issue. If you're working in Leith why not change it up and venture into the city center and vise versa. It's Christmas after all, what better time to try out one of Edinburgh's outstanding dining venues not on your doorstep!
2. Private vs Public The next element to consider is whether you are looking to host the Christmas lunch in an intimate private dining space or whether you want to join the atmosphere of the main restaurant where there is a high chance the accountancy firm from next door is having their annual bash. There are pro's and con's to both so think it through.
3. Pre-prep If it has been left to you to organise the Christmas lunch this year you want to help yourself out as much as possible so when it comes to the day you can fully enjoy it without worrying about everyone and everything around you. You've chosen the location, you've picked the venue, now all you need to do is ensure that everything is ready to go in terms of food so that there is no faffing. Most venues offer Christmas set menu's that have 3 options for starters, main and pud. This is for your sake as much as there's, so make sure you get in everyone's orders before the day itself allowing for a seamless, stress free (on your part) meal.
