The Great Tythe Barn, Barn Hire

The Great Tythe Barn has been one of the Cotswolds leading event venues since 1995 and has hosted a significant number of events from parties, award ceremonies and team away days. The Great Tythe Barn & Tythe House are the perfect location for your event, whether it’s a large or small event we can facilitate!

The Great Tythe Barn features a singular large space than can be divided into two spaces. The Tythe House’s Orangery lends itself to a smaller gathering of a more familiar and intimate nature.




Beautifully and sympathetically restored yet still retaining its special character, the Barn is discreetly lit to create an intimate ambience, and yet it can cater for up to 200 seated guests. Imagine a magical day spent sipping champagne on the lawns, surrounded by your family and friends, sitting in our banqueting hall with guests taking photographs from the galleries, whilst enjoying a delicious meal prepared one of our caterers.

Over the last 30 years we have held over 3,500 weddings and events and its safe to say this building has seen many a happy occasion. From weddings, to big birthdays, to Christmas parties, to baby showers, celebrations of life and big celebrations of life achievements, it's the perfect adaptable space to make your own and sculpt to your needs. Not only can we throw the celebration of a lifetime, we also host conferences and work events with various different areas perfect for large groups or more intimate areas for smaller groups or break-out activities. To say we are a versatile venue is an understatement.

The beautiful Cotswold stone of the 1596 barn’s exterior not only takes your breath away as you and your guests arrive, it continues inside to warmly welcome your guests into a naturally beautiful space, which you can decorate and transform however you wish! The stunning 17th century barn is surrounded by our picturesque gardens, multiple lawns and our newest addition - the firepit. Imagine catching up with all your nearest and dearest as the sun goes down at the end of the perfect day with a drink in hand and s’mores in the other!! It really is the perfect space for any weather, welcoming your guests out onto the lawns for canapes and drinks in the sunshine or continuing the celebrations in our stunning upstairs galleries if the weather isn’t on your side!

Here at the Great Tythe Barn, we like to be as flexible as possible to allow you to create the perfect event for any occasion. We allow a wide range of activities to suit every kind of celebration and person and can even point you in the right direction of some incredible suppliers! We work alongside 4 fantastic caterers who allow your guests to be talking about your event for months to come - from traditional sit down meals, to BBQ's to quirky show piece catering to wow your guests.

Not only do we have 4 fantastic caterers for you to choose from - we do all of our drinks in house! With various, perfectly thought-out drinks package options to creating your very own bespoke package - we take the stress away of you having to source your own drinks. Have a conversation with our fantastic and enthusiastic bar manager to come up with the perfect combination for your event and we will do the rest. From sourcing to chilling to serving your guests!

We pride ourselves on being as sustainable as possible, offering many different resources such as easels and log slices to be reused rather than re-bought. Our 3 piggy friends on site help minimise any food wastage by any food left on your guests plates being fed to them. It’s safe to say the pigs LOVE when we are hosting an event.

If you live further afield, The Great Tythe Barn is the answer for a complete package. Bring all your family and friends the night before, join together in our superb self-catering cottages, and know that everyone is ready to attend your event the next day. The site is on level ground and the ground floor is accessible to disabled guests, along with one of the B&B rooms specially adapted for wheelchair users, and several of our cottages are also suitable for the less abled guests. Secure, off-road parking for 100 cars is adjacent to the Barn.
