I really enjoyed my stay this week from Mon to Wed for the National Play Conference. The room was amazing, had an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and a safe. Plenty of room to move around. Had a bath and a shower with heated towel rail. Breakfast and lunch was great and staff were amazing. Has WiFi (free) in certain areas. The bar is a great social area to have a relaxing time. There's also a carpark at the back of the hotel. Overall, a great stay. Thank you to all the staff.

Lovely historical hotel! Brings back the romance, in a relationship. Close to the pier, and theatres. Friendly staff team. The only downside is the car park at the back of the hotel could use a tidy up, but other than this it's lovely.

Great location on the seafront. Near the pier. The rooms are great very big and the bathroom is very large and very clean, lots of towels and toiletries. The room had a nice large double bed that was really comfortable. Large wardrobe and dressing table and table and chairs. Good large TV, also had a fridge. The room was warm and had a fan. The bathroom was modern. The service was good the staff are very friendly and helpful and efficient. It is also near the shops. The breakfast was nice, there was lots there buffet breakfast, plenty of tea and coffee and cereals, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast, including scrambled eggs and fried eggs, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, baked Beans, mushrooms and hash browns. The only thing was that because of the high winds the front door was shut, so we had to around the back. The lift is in the basement and it doesn't tell you what floor the reception was on, so we went to the First Floor and Mezzanine floor before finding out it was Ground floor. This is the only lift for a large hotel, I think you need more lifts. Also it just needs a message in the lift to tell you which button to press for Reception which would save a lot of time for all the guests. Also it just needs a sign for the basement is the way out, as people kept asking me if this was the way out. I was going to put one up myself, but I was only there for one night.

Stayed here on a whim and the lesson learned is you get what you pay for! It was cheap...which may explain why it was dirty, throughout the hotel, carpets clearly not hoovered in a while. The room was a bit dingy had marks on the walls and the shower was barely fixed to the wall. The bed was comfy enough, it did us for a few hours kip after a night out, it only a few minutes walk into town but definitely not somewhere to stay for a holiday.

First impressions from the outside were fantastic. However once inside those impressions disappeared. One of the rooms looked like it had not been decorated this century. There is no room service, all tasks have to be done by the guests. There was no bar open. The breakfast cooked meals were stone cold and had to be microwaved. There was even a tip box in the restaurant, presumably for money and not recommendations. The staff were not particularly helpful and did not appear to be interested in their jobs. The front doors had been damaged by the storms meaning to access and egress the hotel was either through the car park or the alleyway where all the rubbish is kept. The communal toilets by the conference suites had not toilet rolls present and one of the cubicles appeared to have not been cleaned for weeks. Why is the hotel still operating like this when covid finished 2 years ago? We understand that this was the case even before the pandemic. The only good thing was the lovely view from the rooms.
