The Thomas A Becket

Had my birthday here. The price was reasonable and the staff were attentive and helpful. It's also just generally a good pub with good beer, good food and a decent atmosphere. Now to get them to drop the pointless 'A' along with the rest of the area (and the school)...

I went in there for a drink and some chips, the chips were delicious, the service from the barman however was somewhat hostile and rude. My mother asked for a glass of Shiraz and he poured the end of a bottle that had clearly been open for a while. She asked if she could have a fresh glass of some unopened wine and he said that under no circumstances was he able to have two bottles open at the same, so she had a lime n soda instead. She has never experienced this before and it has put me off going, especially as the whole order was less than cheap! Disappointed from Worthing
