We visited as a guest of a wedding. Fabulous location. Amazing hotel, loads of character. Food was exceptional, ir really was. The lovely butler, was so efficient and friendly. The only downside, was, we didn't have any soaps, body wash in our bathroom. Perfectly honestly, is this still a thing?? I always take my own shampoos, but just not soap! However it was absolutely perfect for a wedding, plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.

We got married here, it’s an amazing venue for couples who are thinking about getting married. I stayed the night before with my bridesmaids and we were well looked after. All the staff have been amazing and helped in every way they could to make our day special. 1 member of staff very kindly drove me my husband and our photographer to Matlock bath bridge and back so we could have some pictures on there. Also if anyone is lucky enough to meet Sean you’ll know how much of a great guy he is!! He literally saved the day with all his hard work and effort he put on for us. And be sure to stay for some food because the chef is great and the food is amazing! 🤩

Elegant, period building in a beautiful setting and surrounded by ancient woods. The room was stylish and very clean; the bed comfortable though quite firm for myself, and thoughtfully furnished. The staff at reception were welcoming and efficient and the general manager could not do enough to make us feel looked after. The hotel had recently been taken over by new management and the efforts to accommodate the guests were evident when we asked to add wines to the limited list and were rewarded with a greater choice the following evening. The food was outstanding, ox cheek was my favourite. The morning self service buffet was generous and well presented,The serving staff were energetic but lacked polish when serving food. I am sure in time this will be rectified by the new team. Altogether a great place to start touring the Peaks. list and

We stayed for a night on our way home from a weekend in Manchester. The staff were friendly enough and the pool was a real draw for us- we swam on arrival and after checkout and we had a great time in the lido. The hotel, however, is looking pretty tired and in need of a little love. It felt clean enough but the hotel needs some money spending on it- there's rusty pipes, cracks in the walls, dents in skirting boards and furniture. Nothing that'd particularly affect your comfort, but it's not a cheap stay and compared to other accommodation at this price point the New Bath hotel is falling behind. We did hear from pool staff that the hotel is under new management so hopefully it'll have a full refurb, as it's got so much potential!

Just checked out today at the new bath hotel and the stay was a little disappointing. When we first entered the hotel the reception staff were helpful, but upon checking out the woman at the desk didn’t bother to ask how the stay was, not a massive deal but surely just basic manners when guests are checking out. She came across as rude. The room itself was one with a balcony, it had wallpaper rips on the walls and big noticeable stain in the carpet near the door. The bottom of the bed also had stains on it. Bathroom looked very dated and it seemed over priced for what it was. I stayed last year and the room was beautiful but this one I stayed in last night wasn’t great and wish I hadn’t booked it. My regret is not taking any photos as I wish I could show what room 68 looked like. Breakfast was okay but it was cold. Just felt like a very underwhelming stay compared to last year. There was a nice man who got us more tea/sugar for our room and he was nice but like mentioned above the woman at the desk this morning didn’t come across as polite. Was considering booking a spa stay here but after reading other reviews for that I definitely won’t. The location is very good though. Lots to do near by.
