We stayed here for just one night. It was excellent. Perfectly decorated for Christmas with a tastefully decorated large Christmas tree which is hugged by the gorgeous grand staircase. All the staff were helpful and delightful. Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprising seeing as we were there for a birthday treat. We stayed in the main building. The room was huge with a spotless bathroom. We had a 3 course dinner. All the food was lovely and we had cocktails in the cozy bar after. The views from the restaurant when we had breakfast the next day were a bonus. We took a walk around the grounds before check out to take in the view. I just wished I could of stayed here longer. Well done for running a hotel that has so much history and character whilst still being cozy and clean

It was so nice. You can feel the history . The building is well looked after. Staff are friendly. Our room #213 was spacious, very clean and looked over the vast gardens. We didn't see the whole of the estate so will just have to do another visit for that. I saw that they have a cottage to let out. All the dates I've looked at are booked up but that does look very nice ! I was presented with a cake and Birthday message after diner which I appreciated. Thanks Team .

We stayed here for a wedding. Incredible from start to finish. The staff were so lovely. The building was beautiful and clean. Rooms were warm on a cold evening! We attended a wedding here and as a venue the location was amazing, food was well presented and tasty. We ate in the restaurant the night before the wedding and we had breakfast two mornings. Very happy with every meal and with the whole stay.

Hotel has the potential to be wonderful but main areas downstairs very cold and unwelcoming.lighting and colour scheme dark. Rooms need to be heated/fires lit. Grounds amazing and lovely. Bar food was not good at all however the evening meal was lovely and very well presented and tasted amazing! Breakfast was wonderful too. Lots of choice and every taste and need catered for! Reception staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and we had a lovely time. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the service was good and the meals were very nice. We did have trouble with some pigeons right outside of our window keeping us awake in the early hours of the morning, and we found the breakfast setup a bit bizarre (one morning it was a buffet, the next not, both times with few staff available to help), but otherwise we had a lovely time exploring the grounds and the local area.
