The Elvetham Hotel is a 19th-century country manor house with a site history that dates back over 1,000 years having played host to nobility and royalty alike such as King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.

Today the hotel consists of 91 modern bedrooms split between our main house and Stables, a relaxing lounge bar, an elegant restaurant and 4 unique function rooms which can be adapted to suit any event.

Our Library is the biggest function space at The Elvetham. It has original antique bookcases on its walls, large windows overlooking the beautiful grounds, and a fancy fireplace, all adding a touch of grandeur to any event. We also have a separate kitchen dedicated to catering for events in the Library, making it ideal for any kind of celebration. It can fit up to 200 people for receptions and up to 120 for dining.

The Elvetham Hotel is almost everything you are looking for in a quintessential British countryside destination. The manor house is situated on 35 acres with a beautiful 5k walking trail through the fields and forests. The old-English vibe really comes through in the decorative style and large open public spaces, bar and dining room. It’s been well maintained and makes for an idyllic weekend escape. The value for money proposition is exceptional. On the other hand, the staff seemed overwhelmed and overworked, although they tried their best. A few short fuses after numerous miscalculated receipts at check-out, was a cause for concern. Perhaps is was the first big weekend of the Summer? Some solid training and additional support would quickly remedy the situation. I’d return, for sure.

Four star hotel in beautiful grounds and with steeped in history. Delightful to walk around inside and out. Just a few little niggles regarding lack of mini toiletries for the bath (the ones fixed to the wall were not teachable from the bath and only consisted of hand wash and body lotion. Room 207 is amazing. Allegedly the biggest room in the hotel and included a hand steamer for clothes as well as ironing board and iron. The dresser/desk has no drawers and no mirror near the sockets for hairdryer etc. The beautiful full length mirror was nowhere near and sockets. I was pleased I had brought my vanity mirror. Staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good in the orangery with beautiful views of the gardens. The guy who was 'front of house ' was very helpful and considerate. Also good sense of humour. Also special mention for Lilly. A little sweetie. Good value for money and overall a good experience!

Amazing historic place! The actual main building as well as the surrounding compound/gardens are truly one of a kind. Only issue we had is cleanliness - everything is dirty! From lipstick on mugs and glasses, to dirty plates and spoons and stained tea pots and cups - there is almost nothing clean. We even found a used cigarette in the room and stain on a towel. This really needs to be improved 10x! This seems to be the recurring topic in other review as well. Otherwise, the staff is mostly really helpful and means well, despite sometimes being a bit confused and all over the place. Great selection for breakfast, good quality of food (tho a bit pricey), unique looking bar with wide drink selection. I would say try check if there is a wedding and avoid these days - the wedding it self is nice and add to the vibe, but the staff is quite junior and gets overwhelmed easily, making everything a lot slower.

Beautiful grounds well attended to, perfect for walks. The hotel was also well taken care of, it had a beautiful restaurant with well executed dishes and a very nice bar for drinks. Generally a very pleasant stay, and good value for money. We stayed in the stables in the family room as we had our dog with us. The room was basic but descent , clean and quite spacious. On the negative side, I didn’t appreciate the extra charge of 25£ for an early check in and another 35£ for our Chihuahua to stay. The lady at reception was quite sharp about it. Not at all about the charge but we weren’t informed of it and also i found it quite unusual. Reception is also quite hard to get hold of via phone, i had to call multiple times and was always forwarded to a message or was told that i would get a call back. Staff was polite but inexperienced , mostly students that could not give information for anything. Breakfast was also very low quality, we had it in our room and couldn’t eat it, very cheap ingredients on the full English. General impression was good but with some small improvements it could be so much better.

The Good- beautiful historic estate, stunning gardens and grounds, all the food we had was delicious, room was lovely, very comfortable bed, great bartender! The Bad- found a wet and we assume dirty towel under the bedsheets when we got ready for bed, front desk quickly remade the bed but would’ve appreciated a free drink, small discount on the room, or something to try and make up for something I’ve never experienced in a hotel before. We went for dinner with a group of 8 in the restaurant and while the food was delicious and the staff was very nice, it took three hours to be served our meal. When we came down for breakfast we had to wait for a table which is fine, but the buffet was a bit underwhelming and we were never able to get any coffee, tea, or water. It's now been two weeks and they have yet to resolve this issue, even after assuring me they would remedy the situation within the week. Still an enjoyable stay, beautiful property, just wished the service had matched the quality of the space and the food.
