Mackintosh at the Willow is the original Willow Tearooms building, designed in its entirety by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for Miss Catherine Cranston in 1903.

This is a city centre venue with both modern and historic spaces, which work as versatile meetings and events rooms.

With state-of-the-art AV, onsite exhibition, tea rooms and restaurant, we have the perfect venue to host your next event.

This room was traditionally designed as a masculine space, with male-only patrons admitted. The space features rich, dark oak paneling and furniture with delicate accents of purple detailing painted on the walls, creating a contrasting atmosphere to the Salon de Luxe. This captivating and historically significant room is well-suited for a wide range of events, including private lunches or dinners, corporate meetings, presentations, and more.

Situated on the second floor, the Billiard Room is easily accessible via an elevator, and restroom facilities are conveniently located on the same level. For details on our meeting package and pricing, please refer to our Meetings Price List.

Perfect for a rainy Glasgow afternoon if you love art, history and sharing afternoon tea. The last survivor of Mrs Cranston's tearoom empire, Mackintosh at the Willow immerses you in an authentic Edwardian, female space reflecting the great social movements of its time, women's liberation and temperance. The tearoom's pristine condition reflects a £4 million renovation project. Its location will also be enhanced when the still under construction £115 million Glasgow streetscape renovation project is completed later this year. The outstanding features are the classic Mackintosh style and the range of specialist teas on offer - as many pots and flavours as you like to taste with your afternoon tea. The exhibition space on the ground floor sets a context for the tearoom, and there is also arts and craft workshops that showcase the skills used in the buildings decoration.

Took a tour of the only original Cranston tearoom, followed by tea/coffee and a cake. Our group of 9 were well looked after during the tour and in the tearoom. The tour lasted 45 mins and covered the history of when and why it was built, the exterior, it's many different uses and thankfully its journey back to its current condition. On the tour you see rooms/levels that are not open to those dining, nothing better than getting beyond the red rope! Well worth a visit with so much to see.

One of a kind tea experience. We had tea at the Salon de Luxe, which is a private, upscale dining experience on the second floor. The two-hour, four-course tea includes unlimited tea from an incredible tea selection. The experience includes wonderful history and stories about the architect and designer, Macintosh. We also loved the little museum tour before, which is very well done. Thank you, Jacob, our server, for a lovely afternoon!

Beautiful and historical Mackintosh-designed tea room, where we had a nicely-done afternoon tea (with little crustless sandwiches and scones and sweets). Service was quite good. A lovely Glasgow experience, with a fine gift shop adjoining.
