Beautiful hotel. Stunning location. An absolute Labyrinth inside though. Took ages to find my room and I never went to it the same way twice. Still loves it

We went to stay here for our 10 year anniversary. We originally booked the standard double. For 2x nights. It was small but was good. There were a couple of issues that we raised politely and the hotel couldn't be more accomadating for us. Not only that. The pool sauna and steam were lovely. And the food in Harry's was delicious. Breakfast was also tasty. We will be going back. But upgrading to the executive suite or above next time. Thank you Horwood house. 😊

Superb spa. I have been in many in UK... But Horwood is amazing. Staff is professional and very helpful. I have been for a spa day, enjoyed it a lot, thank you., space is great. Gym is new, had an awesome workout. Pool is warm and tranquil, really relaxing... Facial was amazing, I used Caudalie products previously, so, felt very good. Lunch was specially made for my requiments, as I am gluten and lactose free - thank you!! Already planning my next spa day. Impressed.

Nice hotel with good rooms but for £116 for the room alone I would have expected better than instant coffee in the room and a pair of slippers. It's the first hotel where I have had to ask for my room to be serviced. I didn't expect clean bedding or towels but did expect to come back to an empty bin, clean cups and refreshed tea and coffee. On our last night we ate in the hotel. After the main meal we said no to dessert. Despite still having drinks we were asked to vacate the table. Never even got asked if we wanted coffee. This is a first for me, even in a greasy spoon they let you finish.

My recent stay at this hotel left much to be desired, as it fell short of its purported four-star rating. The surroundings of the hotel are picturesque. However it is Located in the middle of nowhere, the hotel’s isolated setting was inconvenient and made exploration difficult. Upon arrival, it was evident that the hotel lacked modern facilities and charm. The rooms were small, dated, and devoid of the comfort one expects from a four-star establishment. The room is similar to a travel lodge but at a higher rate and has no air conditioning. To make matters worse, the rooms were situated far from the reception area, and navigating through the poorly signed corridors felt like a labyrinthine ordeal. The breakfast offerings were limited and unimpressive, with an overly salty selection that left much to be desired. The disappointment continued at the hotel restaurant, where the food quality did not match the prices. My order, a chicken burger, arrived burnt and unpalatable, rendering it inedible. Despite raising the issue, all I received was a tepid apology, and to add insult to injury, I was still charged £18 for the subpar meal. In summary, my experience at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The lackluster facilities, poor dining options, and indifferent service do not align with the expectations of a four-star establishment. I would caution against booking a stay here unless significant improvements are made to justify its rating and price point.
