The building is lovely, but everything else is pretty standard. The garden is a nice place to enjoy a drink. Wish the staff would clear tables in the garden and tidy up napkins blown off tables, this would help keep everything looking nice and cared for. I'd go there again, but it's difficult to recommend it.

Such a lovely spot with great coffee and food to enjoy in beautiful and historic surroundings. A hidden gem. And dog-friendly :)

Walked down the hill to here after trying to find something to order in the trendy new cafe in the walled garden. Well the staff in the walled garden were awful, so far up there own backsides. Would not accommodate my partner and my request for low carb options, all we wanted to do was substitute an additional egg for the chips and a sausage for the pancakes, no joy. In the main house (which has been closed for a couple of years), they couldn't have been more helpful, and the menu had much nicer food, grilled peppers and tomatoes, haloumi, avocado, mushrooms, in addition to the usual eggs, bacon and sausage, they had black pudding too. This was just the breakfast items, they were happy to substitute toast and sweet potatoes for avocado and additional mushrooms, such a lovely experience in the main house after trying up the hill.

Really poor vegan lasagne, reminiscent of the one veggie option you might have found at a restaurant in the 90s. Better off taking your sandwich to eat in the park or getting a vegan sausage roll from the farm shop.

Lovely setting. Friendly staff. We were very lucky and had amazing sunshine even in mid October. Food was good, my sandwich was a bit dry but still enjoyable
