Had a lovely night away with family, our deal included dinner which was really good and well presented and we had a lovely breakfast then next morning. The only downside was the indoor pool was cold, we were glad to warm up in the Jacuzzi when it became free.

Went here for my work's Christmas party which in itself was a brilliant event. As for the hotel, unfortunately it didn't live up to its 4* rating. For £135 a night there should have been glass tumblers in the room, not plastic, scratched ones that look like they should have been thrown away a long time ago. The spa facilities were also quite a let down and not the relaxing experience we hoped for. When we went to reception to ask about using the pool, the lady had to go into the office to check we could and then apologised because she was new. Why was she left alone on the desk if she can't handle such a simple and surely common request? So much was her lack of training/help that we also weren't offered robes or slippers. The jacuzzi was the most violent jacuzzi we've ever been in. The bubbles were so high and were constantly hitting me in the face so how the couple opposite were able to have a conversation is beyond me. The pool was quite cold and left me wondering why it wouldn't be even slightly heated in winter. As for the steam room, the generator was so loud and proceeded to gurgle when it needed to emit more steam into the room. Just not what you would call relaxing. On the plus side, our room was comfortable and overall the staff were very attentive but we're not in a rush to go back.

I’d love to rate this hotel higher but unfortunately I can’t. I have booked a package with diner and 2 nights stay to visit surroundings. The rooms are quite big and spacious. Beds are big and comfortable. I can’t say the same for the pillows. There was no safe in the room. Unfortunately room was really outdated. The carpet in the room was old and dusty. Bodily fluids were all over the carpet. Don’t walk barefooted. The restaurant and staff are the only reason why I rated it 3 stars. Otherwise I would rate it lower. Food was delicious, but a bit overpriced. Spa facilities are ok. Swimming pool was really cold. Sauna and steam room in need of renovation, but in good working order. In my personal opinion the only reason why this place is still operating is that is being booked for venues and parties. It is a nice place to stay, but a lot of improvements needed.
