Wilton Ruins Country House, Exclusive Dry Hire

Wilton Castle is located in the heart of the Wye Valley on the bank of the picturesque River Wye. Located on the edge of the small village of Wilton means it an excellent venue with easy access, amazing grounds and a number of excellent local hotels. Additionally Ross-on-Wye is under a mile away meaning its facilities are close at hand. Wilton Castle is not open to the public, but is available for weddings, events, and holiday lets.

The romantic ruins of a restored 12th century castle and 16th century manor house on the banks of the River Wye form the perfect backdrop for the gardens including herbaceous borders, beds of sweetly scented old fashioned roses, gravel gardens and shrubberies. The two acre gardens are surrounded by a dry moat which leads down to the river Wye which has ducks, swans, kingfishers etc and even otters have been recently spotted.

Offered as an approved premises for marriage and civil ceremonies as well as a dry-hire venue, you will have exclusive use of the outside grounds and the freedom to create your own unique celebrations.

Whether you imagine an intimate outdoor ceremony with a perfect backdrop of the castle ruins, or an elegant marquee reception on the beautiful lawn, the venue is a blank canvas for all of your ideas.

The grounds have been meticulously well kept and offer a place of tranquillity for you and your guests. The dovecote and North West tower are both extraordinary spaces for you to sign the schedule after your vows. You can even climb to the Juliet balcony of the tower for a perfect photo opportunity while overlooking the majestic gardens.

Nestled within the ruins of the Norman castle and manor house is the 5 bed Georgian House, available for hire by the wedding party and family or friends. The house is a large 5 bedroom property that sleeps 9 guests comfortably. The house has maintained its original features while incorporating modern amenities.
