The Larder At Butlers Retreat, Exclusive Hire

Butlers Retreat hosted the most amazing wedding for us in August 2021! Everything went just as planned, the food (Middle Eastern sharing platters) were delicious and the staff was so professional and friendly. We had 28 guests, who all were very impressed, including a gluten-intolerant guest who felt especially taken care of. A big shout out to Eva who managed the evening so well! Highly, highly recommend for events.

Bit ambitious with their pricing these days. But makes a nice change from fry up Greek cafes of station rd. However, service is glacial and the school leavers running the place don't seem to know their way a gaggia so coffee is often burnt. Waited 20mins for an oat milk flat white this morning (they weren't even particularly busy)which came up like a latte. Final nail in the coffin is its no longer free to park opposite. Had its day.

We went there to have soup for lunch, but they do not serve it. The coffee was good. All the cakes left had nuts. My partner had the raspberry and almond cake, which was on the dry side. You can get a free parking permit when you order from BR. Otherwise you need to down load an app and pay online. Accessible parking is available on the same side as BR.
