The Gunpowder Plot, The Crown And Barrel

The Gunpowder Plot is different to your typical venue hire. All bookings will incorporate tickets to the immersive experience which takes you and your guests on a thrilling adventure back in time to 1605, to go undercover and infiltrate history’s most daring conspiracy.

The experience takes place in a purpose-built immersive theatre space at Tower Vaults, just below Tower Hill where much of the Gunpowder plot took place. Set in 20,000 square feet of specially converted vault space over two separate levels, step back in time to 1605 to experience the conspiracy first hand.

Guests are invited to escape the Tower, uncover a secret safehouse, and make the daring journey along the Thames towards the Houses of Parliament. Of course, the experience is brought to life via a combination of live theatre, virtual reality, and cutting-edge technology including motion simulators, physical sensations and special effects.

Fancy being a part of all of that? For corporate groups of 16 or more there are a range of tiered packages available featuring various food and drink options. The Fuse package includes a ticket to the Gunpowder Plot experience two house drinks and a themed cocktail. Upgrade to Spark to experience a meal after the main event, while Flame includes Prosecco on arrival as well as a souvenir photograph to take home with you.

The Gunpowder Plot is located within the Tower Vaults, underneath The Tower of London. It is a purpose-built attraction with 2 bars and a restaurant across 2 floors. It has a rustic yet modern feel, utilising exposed brickwork and lighting to merge the two together seamlessly.

The Duck and Drake offers a fully themed space for you and your co-conspirators. It is often claimed that Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators hatched their plan in a tavern on the Strand, of the very same name. It is here they apparently swore an oath on the bible to blow up Parliament. The Duck and Drake is available for up to 110 standing or 50 seated, and inspired by the tavern Guy Fawkes’ is rumoured to have originally hatched his plan in. Duck and Drake is only available to the last groups of the day as it operates as the interval bar for guests on the experience.

The Gunpowder Plot is located within the Tower Vaults, underneath The Tower of London. It is a purpose-built attraction with 2 bars and a restaurant across 2 floors. It has a rustic yet modern feel, utilising exposed brickwork and lighting to merge the two together seamlessly.

The Crown and Barrel features a sectioned off dining area, but also has the option for full venue hire. There are a mixture of booths and tables that can be arranged to suit your party’s needs. The Crown and Barrel is the main restaurant space for up to 170 standing or 100 seated, with rustic decor designed to transport guests back in time. This option is well suited to conferences and large parties.
