Lovely afternoon tea booked. Beautiful setting, friendly staff. Afternoon tea was nice with plenty of choice however the white bread could of been a bit fresher, not sure how long it had been sat or left out before serving & not much filling: egg mayo & ham tomato sandwiches.

Last minute stay, staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great and rooms are a good comfy size. We had our dog and she got a little doggy welcome pack.

2 night stay, on arrival the receptionist was welcoming and informative. Our room (no.9) had a comfy king bed, a fold out bed for our 9yr old, sheets were good quality and clean, towels fluffy. Bathroom could do with an upgrade and the room a lick of paint but was clean overall. At all times the staff, from reception to the waiting staff to the maintenance chap were smiley, helpful and chatty. Friday nights are busy, the waiting staff work their socks off so be nice if you're there on a Friday! Food is pricey but all very tasty, breakfast was very good. Pool was great, clean, well maintained and open all through our stay.

We were told on arrival that the swimming pool was unavailable, but the lady at reception kindly offered to check if we could use the sister hotel’s pool just 5 minutes away. Unfortunately, she never called back, so we left it at that as swimming wasn’t the highlight of our trip. There was plenty more to enjoy — the area is beautiful, full of animals like cows, horses, and deer. The forest walks and the purple flowers were absolutely spectacular. We were a family of five and booked two rooms. One of them (room 28) was extremely hot as the sun set on that side, making it feel like a sauna. Fans were provided but it was still uncomfortable to sleep. The room itself felt neglected — the door was damaged and poorly repaired, the toilet door wouldn’t close properly, there were spider webs showing it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned, and the carpet was stained. There was no soap, so I had to bring some over from our other room. The bath tap made a loud noise whenever used, and we had to keep adjusting the temperature just to stop it. This really needs replacing. That said, we still had an amazing time. The bouncy castle was a big hit with the children, giving us parents a chance to relax with a glass of wine. Breakfast was nice, though very busy and clearly short-staffed. The team was very apologetic and attentive despite this. I would recommend this place if room 28 is improved — adding air conditioning on that side of the building, replacing the door, fixing the toilet door, changing the bath tap, and giving it a thorough clean would make a huge difference.

Poor stay from start to finish. Service at the reception desk was slow and unwelcoming. The pool was closed for our entire stay without warning or apology, just a note on the door. The hallways and communal areas were covered in cobwebs and stains on the carpets. The rooms were outdated and the bathroom was of domestic standard with a plastic base to the shower that bent with every movement, whilst the shower switched between hot and cold without touching it. The worst part was the breakfast that didn't arrive for an hour. There was no apology or communication and we had to ask after it several times. In this time they didn't even offer us any more tea or coffee. When it did arrive it was cold. We asked for more cutlery, which never showed. All told- a very sub-par experience. Would not stay again.
