We went to a destination wedding here this summer. We slept in a run down cottage that was, in my personal opinion, definitely NOT worth the price. Beds were uncomfortable and noisy and the cottage itself was also very noisy, so no privacy at all as you can very well hear the other guests in the adjacent rooms (and they can hear you..). Room was very old fashioned and couldn't be locked from the outside, quite some mosquitos which makes it hard to sleep. At some point we just wanted to leave. I get that it's a castle ground and they want to offer a similar experience, but price/quality is way off. We stayed here because the couple asked us to, but would not stay here again. Staff was very nice, and offered to post our day 2 COVID test, but it never arrived to the health clinic we bought it from. The reason I'm still giving it 2 stars is because of the helpful staff, pleasant breakfast and beautiful grounds.

We arrived on Tuesday for 2 nights but after being there for half hour we were not happy, John who showed us around was lovely and the setting is beautiful but your cottage room we were shown just let it badly down. The room was in need of painting and the beds were stained, the mirror looked as if someone had squeezed their spots on it and the bathroom well it was disgusting, am sorry we didn't complain to you but was upset and just wanted to go back home, I your photos of rooms was noughing like we had. This just needs a refurbishment and I would pay double as the inside does not reflect the outside.

Superb guided tour led by friendly ginger cat and a very knowledgeable man. How he remembers all the dates, events and people - I am envious.

Would like to thank Kirsty for allowing us to visit the castle today at short notice whilst renting a nearby property. The castle tour and gardens are wonderful and we all loved playing croquet. Thank you also for the refreshments! The girls aged 5 and 3 loved their visit too especially the tower!
