100 guests
Following its purchase in 2009 by the Royal Society, Grade I-listed Georgian country house Chicheley Hall, near Milton Keynes, has become the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, a facility
dedicated to the advancement of science. The centre is available to hire exclusively for residential conferences and social events, with all profits going towards the work of the Society.
Chock-full of period features, the refurbishment programme carefully conserved the hall’s 18th-century architecture, while bringing the conference facilities and bedrooms in line with the
requirements of modern business. The main event space is the Wolfson Centre, which features two 100-seater lecture halls and a glazed atrium serving as a breakout space, a conference office and a
small meeting room. Teambuilding activities are available in the 85 acres of grounds and include a Crystal Maze-style challenge and the building of a replica F1 racing car.

I didn't stay in a room so cannot rate the rooms. The bar is cashless and the drinks are overpriced. £3 for a small glass of coke poured from a 2.5l Coca Cola bottle that was flat. No draught beers at all. The service was excellent and the property I did see was lovely

I booked for an afternoon tea for two people and I was very disappointed. The staff was very polite and the surroundings beautiful, but those were the only good things about my experience. The chairs were dirty, the room was very cold with a domestic style small heating, not covering the whole room. The sandwiches offered were completely basic and caused me and my guest pain in the stomach, the scones were not baked properly, and the desserts offered were all at least two - three days old and we didn't touch them. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Definitely in need of refurbishment.
