The Box Tree Restaurant in Ilkley is one of the oldest buildings in the area with a charming story behind its name.
Dating back to 1720, originally a farmhouse cottage, it has kept many of its beautiful original features despite changing function over the years. After having box tree's in the surrounding garden for years this quaint restaurant began to be named for them, as it still is!
Marrying in this lovely setting your guests will be treated to a really warm Yorkshire welcome, friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. The Box Tree is known for its delicious cuisine with most ingredients sourced locally.
It is the perfect venue for small intimate celebrations and weddings, with a maximum capacity of 50 guests.

March 2024Whatever chef Brado and the team did has given the Box Tree a fresh new menu and a higher standard than before. Having eaten there since he has taken over, there is an obvious increase in quality. The new dishes are bolder with an air of confidence from the new head chef and his kitchen. Front of house the service is excellent and the sommelier knowledgeable and happy to give his recommendations. Waiting staff were pleasant and professional. Location of restaurant means no on site parking but the main town car park is to the rear of restaurant with a 1 min walk. With a constantly evolving menu there will always be a reason to go back.

June 2024This evening, we had the pleasure of dining at The Box Tree and were attended to by three delightful gentlemen. It was our first fine dining experience, and it surpassed all our expectations. The food was extraordinary, with each dish meticulously crafted and harmonizing beautifully with the others. We opted for the wine pairing, and each selection was exquisite and perfectly complementary, despite their unique characteristics. The exceptional service truly elevated our evening. Every staff member was a testament to the establishment—warm, personable, and highly knowledgeable. It was a fantastic experience, combining superb cuisine, impeccable service, and a memorable atmosphere. Thank you for making our first fine dining experience so wonderful!

April 2024We had the pleasure of having a dining experience here for my partners birthday. Staff were very pleasent and fun and we found the place to not be as pretentious as other awarded resteraunts. Food was incredible as were the cocktails. Also for an almost 3 hour experience price was very reasonable. Will deffo be coming again.
