How to begin... we booked this weeks in advance, knowing the renovation was undergoing and would be complete for our arrival. After several messages regarding the spa and booking some treatments , we were ignored and finally when answered we were told it was fully booked and we couldn’t have anything! But we thought never mind we’ll go anyway as we wanted to see the changes and try the new bar and restaurant. We were contacted 2 hours before arrival to inform us that both the bar and restaurant wouldn’t be open... nice for them too do this when they knew it was too late for us to get a refund. Very poor form. We’ve since seen on social media that neither the bar or restaurant were closed and they had infact lied so they could host a private function for their ‘important guests’ what a sh*t show, wouldn’t go back if they paid me. 1* is a stretch but couldn’t rate less.

Nice room setting, very clean. The room service was not well-trained. I asked for extra body wash and shampoo, the cleaning who doesn’t speak a single English came two hours later with towels and two toothbrushes, just no body wash and shampoo. Toilet was a bit broken and there’s no tissues in the box, it was pretty though they use pink and orange tinted tissues to make the tissue box pretty lol Double room is a good size, can fit a travel cot for babies(they will provide is asked but then we waited for two hours to come). Parking is £10 for people who stay in the hotel, normal guests parking is £30 so better find somewhere else. Location is good, building full of character. Overall, it was an okay stay, there’re better Hilton hotels in other countries and part of the UK. I’d say Doubletree is not very equivalent to the Hilton main brand.

I write this awake in our expensive room having to turn the TV off because we can't hear it above the din of very loud music from a wedding beneath us. Called every number available from the room phone and after 15 minutes got someone to answer. No chance of sleeping tonight. We were told nothing of this when we booked-in yesterday. Absolutely shocking and won't be back. Avoid this hotel if you want to sleep!

Work going on currently but we weren't disturbed by it. Great location just a short walk through the park and you're in the centre of Harrogate with lots of food, drinks and shops. Room was a nice size and very comfy. No one had told us the code to get out the car park so we had to park up and go back in, so make sure you get a code! Would stay here again.

This place is freezing cold! You can’t sleep it’s that cold. Made worse by the serious lack of bedding. Room advertised as having fridge, safe and nespresso machine. It doesn’t. Seriously, go to a premier inn instead. This place is very very overpriced
