On the border of Cheshire and North Wales, this stunning Georgian country house, approached down a sweeping driveway and surrounded by landscaped gardens. Full of character, charm and warmth, this lovingly restored hotel boasts 14 individually decorated bedrooms and an award winning restaurant.

The home of the Wynne Bankes family for over 200 years, Soughton combines the atmosphere of a cherished family home with the luxury of a boutique country retreat – perfect for social and business events. Known as Wales's very own Downton Abbey due to its connection to the architect Sir Charles Barry who worked on the property back in 1820.

A deposit is required to secure a booking with the final balance required 7 days before event. Cancellation Policy: Deposit is non-refundable Cancellation less than 1 months before is 25% of agreed/estimated spend Cancellation less than 14 days before selected event date is 50% of agreed/estimated spend Cancellation less than 7 days before selected event date is 100% of agreed/estimated spend

Better late than never! My husband and I got married here August 2025 and it was a perfect day! I cannot recommend Soughton Hall enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish everyone was incredibly supportive, knowledgeable and extremely professional. The venue is absolutely stunning, the food was incredible and all guests complemented the accommodation. Thank you so much for being a massive part of what made the day as stress free as it could have been.

My daughter and all our guest has an amazing wedding day at this wonderful location, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, both on the day and in the organising of the special day, everything was planned out perfectly and even when the bride managed to lock her self out of her room, they didn’t panic and didn’t get annoyed they just helpfully sorted out the issue. The venue is beautiful but it really is the amazing staff that made the day. Thank you.
