Went to this museum for the Chinese new year celebrations. It was great! Great performances lots of activities for kids to do and the whole museum it's self is really good there's so much to look at. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. Somthing for everyone there definitely need to go back again for a proper look around

Wonderful venue, gorgeous architecture. So many artefacts, displays and information from all over the world. I loved the various art galleries, so well cared for. Lots to see and explore, highly recommended.

I have visited the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery twice now to see two exhibits and enjoyed my visit both times. Not only have I taken in the exhibit I went to see but also got to see the rest of the museum and gallery. This is great is you have kids, if you are a nature, history or art lover, there is bound to be something for you. There is also a nice café in which you can grab a drink and a bite to eat. The gift shop too is nice and you can grab something to remember your trip if you are that way inclined. I mostly like to take as many photos as is allowed and do some sketching if possible. To visit the Museum and gallery itself I believe is normally free, with different paid exhibits being hosted there at different times of the year. The photos below are not of the wildlife photographer of the year as you were not allowed to take photos. They are of the southwest coast exhibit and some other exhibits on when I visited. This included a great section on dinosaurs that if you have any little ones that are fans of dinosaurs, they would have loved. It is only a small section but they have real fossils, some really big ones and this leads directly into the natural history part with all the other stuffed animals. It is very interesting. A definite must see if you are visiting Bristol.

Like most museums there's an Egypt section, animals, and planes but what sets this apart was the fascinating look into the evolution of Bristol's cartography. A collection of maps that show the changes through the years. Mshed refers to a lot of these, but I loved seeing the original. I also thoroughly enjoyed all the artworks from the 1800s of Bristol. I went first thing on a Sunday morning and walked around the galleries on my own.

While the museum had some amazing animals featured and some amazing Egyptian artifacts. It felt like it was full of "filler" creatures. It was still amazing to see all the animals of course but it would've been very cool to see a mammoth to scale. Nonetheless, the place had some cool fossils too which were very impressive. The only downside was really the fact that there wasn't enough content. It had a cool shop and a café so enjoy :) Definitely recommend a visit!
