What a wonderful hotel. We had a lovely anniversary break . Excellent food with exceptional service. Great walks in the grounds. Room very comfortable and quiet. Recommend for a special occasion

Great food and atmosphere. Feels special enough to use for celebratory occasions but not pretentious. Beautiful location but parking can be an issue. Staff are lovely but remember to check your bill as we've been overcharged a couple of times. Not dishonesty but just lack of attention to who is managing your table.

Stayed for a winter weekend. Building is an old manor house set in beautiful gardens. The property, and rooms, is a little dated and needs a refurb. Design is VERY early 00's. You can hear other guests walking around in the rooms above with lots of creaking being disturbing to light sleepers. Food is reasonable. Probably over priced, but the chef clearly is trying to be contemporary. He/she gets close to true gourmet. Internet is free and very slow at busy times. Guests are generally elderly and the bar (24hr) is normally empty by 7pm (according to the staff). In the summer it is a very busy wedding venue (up to 4 or 5 weddings a week apparently) and I can see it being great for that purpose. Staff are all positive, helpful, energetic and great. They are the best part of the hotel.
